Summer 2022

“ There is always music amongst the trees, but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it.” - Minnie Aumonier

Gretchen is in PA for the summer. However, she has been making frequent trips back to NY. Why, you ask? To meet with her new agent Camden Scifres of Bonafide and Emerging Artists (BEA)! Gretchen couldn’t be more humbled or excited to join the BEA family. She has been signed exclusively for theatrical projects and non-exclusively for all other areas. Auditions are already in full swing and she can’t wait to where the next few months will take her.

Gretchen would like to acknowledge the continued difficulties facing the world. To every woman in the country who has just been told that her bodily autonomy is less important than the rights of a gun Gretchen sees you and stands with you. As the injustices of this country continue to pile up it can feel hopeless. Take the time you need to process. Become quiet and still and collect yourself because then we need your voice. We need your actions. Shout your support for abortion rights from the rooftops. Talk to family and friends about the importance of it. Donate to organizations if you can or volunteer. Make sure that you are registered to vote and do so for each election. To the men of the world Gretchen would like to remind them that, this is your fight too. Just as racism is not on marginalized communities to solve so too is this not on women alone to fix. Raise your voices with the women in your life.

Spring 2022

Gretchen spent the beginning of the year catching up with family and reworking her media and reels. Keep your eyes peeled for a big website update in the next month. Gretchen will be returning to Hershey’s Chocolate World this Summer as a performer and company manager for RWS’s stage show Hershey’s Unwrapped. Having played Doc Chocolate last Summer this time she will also be learning the role of Ms. Allison and acting as a swing between the two roles. Jumping Jolly Ranchers is she excited! She hopes that you and your whole family will come enjoy this super sweet show.

Winter 2021

From PA to NC Gretchen is making her way down south for the Winter. She will be appearing as a lead vocalist and dancer in Cool Yule at Carowinds theme park for Winterfest 2021. In addition to her main stage show she will also be seen in the tree lighting ceremony as well as the Winterfest Wonderland Parade. Rehearsals begin November 1st and shows will open to the pubic November 22nd. If you are looking for a way to spend your holidays Gretchen encourages you to check out Carowinds and all it has to offer. She would also like to wish each and every one of you the happiest of holiday seasons with your loved ones.

Fall 2021

Gretchen will be headed back to PA this time to work with Hersheypark. She will be a dance host in their Halloween show ‘Hersheypark’s Shake, Howl and Glow Dance Party’. It is shore to be a frightfully good time! Running every weekend in October Gretchen hopes you will join her and the rest of the cast for this spooktacular show.

Summer 2021

Having completed her time teaching in Colorado Gretchen has moved back to New York. While moving in she was lucky enough to book a gig with Hershey’s Chocolate World through RWS. She will be appearing as Doc Chocolate in Hershey’s Unwrapped throughout the Summer in PA. In addition, you can catch Gretchen as the voice of the Queen of Diamonds in Braving the Bard Theater Company’s radio production of Saving Wonderland now out on Spotify. Gretchen will be back to NY come September and will be seen as Ariel at the Astoria Princess Ball through Joy’s Princess Parties NYC. Ariel will be meeting young princesses, dancing, and even leading a sign language lesson in case Ursula tries to steal anyone’s voice. She hopes if you find yourself in PA or NY this Summer that you and you family will join her in the fun!

Spring 2021

Gretchen couldn’t be more excited to be directing her students in a very unique Spring musical. Gretchen was inspired by the vignette play Anxiety is Orange written by Lindsay Price. She felt it spoke to our current human struggles in a poetic way. However, the piece was a straight play and the school always does a musical in the Spring. As such, Gretchen obtained permission from the playwright to add original music into the show. She then reached out to six of her incredibly talented songwriting friends from all across the country: Elspeth Collard, Sam Rosenblatt, Tucker Boggs, Robert Edwards, Liv Rocklin, and Chad Gorn. After casting the show each songwriter was paired with students in the cast to write brand new music for the show. The rehearsal process started with mentors and students working via zoom in online rehearsals. Now the script and music have been set and in-person rehearsals (including temperature checks, masks, and social distancing) have commenced. They are unable to welcome a live audience into the theater at this time but will be recording the show and streaming May 6-9 via On the Stage. See below for the link to buy tickets. Gretchen couldn’t be more proud of her students for embracing this unconventional rehearsal process. Her students truly inspire her as an artist and she can’t wait for you to see their work.

Winter 2020

Gretchen continues to teach at Pomona and works to build a supportive place of connection within the classroom (whatever form it may take) for all students. In addition to teaching Gretchen has also been working on several radio plays through Braving the Bard Theater Company. You can catch Gretchen as the voice of Cerimon in Pericles and as a lead singer in Love Labour’s Lost out on Spotify now. As the Winter break approaches Gretchen is readying herself to undergo a minor surgy on her ankle to finally heal an old injury. She wishes you and your families a restorative holiday season. She knows that many are unable to be with their loved ones and so sends her very best to anyone struggling with feelings of isolation.

Fall 2020

As the pandemic continues and in-person theater is in a holding pattern Gretchen has found herself asking what she can do to be of use to the world at a time like this. The answer seems to lie in her teaching artistry. She is humbled to announce that she has accepted a drama teacher position at Pomona Highschool in Arvada, CO for the year. She will be teaching Beginning Acting, Stagecraft, Dance and Yoga. In addition, she will be directing shows throughout the year as possible by COVID. She will be teaching both in person, remote only and in a hybrid fashion throughout the year. She knows this will be a tough year but hopes to bring a spot of joy to the lives of her students who are wading through the difficulties of the pandemic.

Spring 2020

Gretchen is returning to New York after spending some time at home in Colorado. She was able to spend the holidays at home surrounded by her family, her dogs and her mountains. This Spring she has been cast as Borachio in Steinhardt’s traveling Shakespeare To Go production of Much Ado About Nothing. The production will tour throughout the five burrows playing to a different school every Friday morning from January to May. She has also been cast as Julius Caesar in Little and Fierce Theater Company’s debut production of Julius Caesar which will take place this May. Gretchen will also be in two new works during NYU Shmutz’s new work one acts festival. In addition, she will also be interning at Story Pirates throughout the Spring. As she looks ahead to graduation in May she will attend classes part-time during her last semester.  Having already finished her Drama requirements, this allows her to finish her second degree in Theatre Education - NYU Steinhardt.

Summer 2020

“Everything is falling apart, but you stand still. Maybe the storm loves fighting with you? So just close your eyes and breathe you’re gonna make it though” - Anonymous

Gretchen is incredibly thankful for the support of her friends and family during these difficult times. She has a roof over her head and food to eat and there are so many for whom that is not true. Gretchen’s thoughts are with everyone during these dark times. Despite going online due to COVID-19 Gretchen is proud to have graduated from NYU in May with both of her degrees (Tisch Drama and Steinhardt Educational Theater). Unfortunately, all of the productions she was working on have been canceled or postponed indefinitely. She hopes that the world will heal itself soon and that we will be able to share in the community of theater once more. In the interim Gretchen is taking the time to polish her audition materials, make self tapes and attend virtual readings of new work weekly. Gretchen is incredibly excited to have begun voiceover work for a new app that will be released July 2020 (more details to come). Finally, Gretchen wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the reflection and work that needs to be done by every artist and individual to help route out the systemic racism that exists in our world. She urges you to join her in reflecting upon your own privilege, actively educating yourself to be more aware of racism and its many forms and to take action. Donate, volunteer, sign petitions, write letters, vote, protest, support black owned businesses and artists. Black lives matter. As an artist and an educator Gretchen is pledging herself to continue do better and she hopes you will too.

Fall 2019

Gretchen is returning to NY after her Summer spent with the Lab Company at the Hangar Theatre. This is her first time back in the city since her semester spent in London last Spring. Gretchen has been cast in Steinhardt’s main stage production, The Good Soul of Szechuan as the First God. The semester will be focused on finishing both of her majors however primarily her Educational Theatre courses. Two courses she is looking forward to are her acting for camera course through StoneStreet under Kathleen Baggott as well as her Directing course through Steinhardt under Keith Huff.

Summer 2019

Gretchen could not be more excited to join the Hangar Theatre’s Lab Company this Summer. She will be performing in 3 full shows and a cabaret in just 8 weeks. She has had the good fortune to be cast as Alcestis in The Thing I Hold a new work by Harrison David Rivers on the Wedge Stage. She will also appear in The Phantom Tollbooth as Rhyme and in Lily Plants a Garden as Beatrice on the KidStuff stage. Working with the four Drama League Directors - Amanda McRaven, Ismael Lara, Sharifa Elkady, and Sophia Watt is an incredible opportunity that Gretchen is looking forward to immensely. Ithaca here she comes!

Spring 2019

Gretchen will be spending her Spring semester at NYU London having been accepted at RADA. She and her cohort will be putting on three performances including their final project of Hamlet where Gretchen will be playing Queen Getrude. While there she will also be taking courses focusing on voice, speech, iambic pentameter, verse, prose and more. Perhaps, what she is most excited for is to undergo RADA’s broad sword certification program. She will also be taking this time to adventure around London and beyond. Cheers love!
